Public Relations is available to assist local, state, national and international media with requests relating to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and any of the departments and offices it oversees. This guide provides reporters a quick overview of the organization, services provided and the most effective ways to contact our office.

Before traveling to county offices and facilities. This saves gas costs and travel time if the desired interview is not possible at the desired time.
As soon as possible. Typical office hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For media requests relating to the commission and its departments and offices only. Marion County government operates separately from the cities of Ocala, Belleview and Dunnellon, and from Marion County’s five constitutional offices (Marion County Clerk of the Court, Marion County Property Appraiser, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Supervisor of Elections and Marion County Tax Collector). Media requests relating to any of the cities or constitutional offices must be initiated directly with them.
