We issue permits, review plans, verify contractor licenses, & perform inspections.

Impact Fees
At the March 5, 2024 meeting of the Marion County Board of County Commissioners, the Board adopted Ordinance No. 2024-06, which established new and updated Educational System Impact Fees in all unincorporated and incorporated areas of Marion County; provided that collection of County impact fees within municipalities will not occur until the county and the city have entered into an interlocal agreement.
These impact fees are imposed on all new construction and applies for a building permit on or after specified dates and will fund capital improvements and additions to Marion County Public Schools needed to serve new growth.
