Marion County, FL
Home MenuFilming in Marion
Marion County does not require permits to film or photograph within publicly accessible areas or along rights-of-way.
You’d only need a permit if you intend to film within a right-of-way, impeding traffic, or require one or more lanes of a roadway to be closed during filming.
There may also be coordination required with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office depending on variables such as the duration of the requested traffic interference. Please see contact information listed below.
If filming is possible beyond the right-of-way, perhaps across the street within another consenting private property boundary, no permits nor sheriff’s office coordination would be required.
Filming within our municipalities may require separate permits & would require contacting the corresponding municipality directly. Please see contacts provided below.
Should you need to redirect traffic along a county roadway, you’ll need to complete this application & receive a notice of approval prior to the filming date related to the application.
If you find need to film in a county park, please contact our Parks & Recreation department at 352-671-8560 to obtain a Commercial Park Pass.
Here are our contacts within our municipalities who will at least get you pointed in the right direction should permits be required within their jurisdictions.
