Making Marion County a safer place to live, work, & play.

We now offer self inspections for low-risk structures!

About the self-inspection program

Our self-inspection program was implemented to assist & educate low-risk, local business owners so that they may perform a self-inspection assessment.

  • This assessment will be completed by the business owner or a delegate & returned to our office.
  • This assessment will be used to identify & elevate fire hazards as well as maintain safe working environments.

Who's eligible?

Low-risk business examples include buildings used for storage or mercantile/retail functions.

What you can expect

  1. Our fire inspectors will be visiting your business to assist you in the initial orientation & implementation of this program.
  2. After your inspection is reviewed by our fire inspectors, we will reach out to you with any needed corrections to improve the safety of your building.
  3. You'll then be eligible to perform subsequent annual inspections & submit the self-inspection form to our office electronically for your convenience.
