Come join us as we explore the beginnings of what would become Ocala and Marion County. This is a reconstruction of the wooden fort that served as a supply post during the Seminole Wars and is an active archaeological site. There are museums on premises as well as a beautiful trail and spring to discover! Bring water and lunch and wear comfortable clothes and closed toe walking shoes. Hats and sunscreen are encouraged.
Walks & Talks is a monthly program where you can exercise, socialize, and learn all at the same time! Transportation is provided to and from the fort starting at the Forest Community Center. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY JANUARY 8TH.
$10 per registrant.
This program is for adults 18+
Transportation is available, or meet at the destination. Van leaves from Forest Community Center, 777 S. CR 314A, Ocklawaha.
Please bring lunch (unless otherwise indicated) and water.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen/hats/sunglasses, bug spray.
