Community Development Projects

Transitions Life Center

Construction of TLC new facility

Transitions Life Center (TLC) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide a safe, caring & enriching community for adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities.

In 2016, TLC received $600,000 in funding through a federal community development block grant from U.S Department of Housing & Urban Development, which was backed by the county commission.

Open Arms Village (men's shelter)

Open Arms Village provides shelter & support services to single men, which is the largest homeless population in Marion County & the population that struggles the most to find assistance. Time spent at Open Arms Village extends time spent sober, improves psychiatric symptoms & reduces the likeliness of future costs to the local hospital & legal system.

We used federal funding via the Emergency Solutions Grant Program to create a facility, which would allow for transitional housing for homeless men in our community.
